Frequently Asked Questions
Your Questions, Answered
Why should I hire a college consultant?
The college admissions landscape is more competitive than ever. A consultant provides a structured plan, expert guidance to help your student produce their best possible application, and personalized support to reduce stress for the whole family. My background provides an additional layer of insider knowledge that can make a significant difference.
How does your experience in a university admissions office benefit my child?
My 10+ years on the "other side" means I know what admissions officers are looking for. I can help students avoid common mistakes and highlight the strengths and qualities that will resonate most with application readers.
When is the best time to start?
While I can help at any stage, the best results often come from starting early (9th or 10th grade). This allows us to work together on a long-term plan for coursework, extracurriculars, and summer activities, which creates a more compelling and less stressful application process down the road.
What is your role versus the student's?
My role is to be a guide, strategist, and coach. I provide structure, tools, and expert feedback. The student’s role is to do the work: write their own essays, study for their exams, and engage authentically in their activities. My goal is to empower them to present the best version of themselves.
